But the truth is, passion is what motivates people. Politics, the economy, religion, money, you name it. Whatever flavor it is, it’s that passion which motivates them.
I’m passionate about a few things right now in my life. One is my wife and our girls. Another is my son and his family (a text once in a while would be nice, youngster). The others are finishing my college degree as planned. And learning how to get out of being overworked and underpaid at a Just Over Broke to pay for it. Those are my passions. And they do motivate me.
That motivation, along with coffee, does more for me than just get me going in the morning.
It makes me study sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning. It made me start this blog. It’s makes me continue to search for the perfect online vehicle where I don’t have to work for SOMEBODY but, rather for ME. It’s made me humble enough to accept that which I can’t change and wise enough to change that which I need to. It makes me take a Just Over Broke in Food Service (UGH) but wise enough to know when it’s time to leave.
I realize that success and failure are not mutually exclusive terms. For me, that’s a change. I get it. You cannot have one without the other. Prime example: Donald Trump. Dude’s been to bankruptcy court 5(?) times now and who’s running for President? Lord help us. But I digress.
Michael Jordan once said:
“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
And that’s the key.
What passion motivates you?
