What you’re capable of is an essential thing to consider when taking a dream of yours and making something of it. You’ll need to seriously think about your existing talents that you can use to making that dream of yours come to fruition. Doing so will boost your confidence level, essential to become the success you dream of becoming.
Think about those times in your life where you went above and beyond. Consider some of the things you’ve done that you enjoyed doing. Consider your accomplishments. What are your existing talents? All of these can help you achieve any goals you may have. You do not have to be an expert. You could have knowledge that pertains to something you enjoy doing, not because of work but rather because you choose to be.
Everyone is good at something. Back in the day, you might have been good at long distance runner. Today, you smoke and you’ve written off that dream of yours. But that doesn’t mean you can’t quit smoking and get yourself back into shape to run in the NYC Marathon. You may have enjoyed building things in the past or have a hobby like making candles, jewelry or refurbishing old cars.
But even if it’s not completely clear to you at this point doesn’t mean you don’t have a skill. It just means you have yet to discover that skill in yourself. You may even discover you may be good at something you previously thought you didn’t have the talent for.
These experiences include times in your life where you excelled. You don’t have to have won an award. These include the best times of your life. What are some of the things you have done in your life that you really enjoyed you wish you could do again? Consider some of the accomplishments you have made.
The existing talents you have today can be used to help you achieve your goals. Are you good at organizing or marketing? You might be good at something you don’t even realize. These things could be making announcements about events, making phone calls, baking, gardening, and more.
Remember, everyone is good at something. If you don’t have a hobby like making candles, beaded jewelry, or working on cars on the weekends it doesn’t mean you don’t have a skill. This just means that you haven’t quite figured out what your skill is yet. You need to know what it is that interests you the most. The fact is, the great majority of people are very good at what they do when they enjoy it.
